Located on the first-floor corner of the historic Trust Building in downtown Grand Rapids, Via Design transformed a former bank space into a contemporary location for Ferris Coffee. Providing interior architecture, interior design, and furnishings, Via created an environment designed around the rhythm of the downtown workday, with spaces for grabbing coffee on the go, meeting for conversation, or settling in with a laptop.

A central bar serves as the hub of the café, pairing a walnut countertop with a blue tile front and anchoring pendants overhead. Built-in window seating connects the interior to activity at street level, while integrated power supports customers working throughout the day. Historic elements are balanced with contemporary furnishings, while marble-patterned floor tile and tiled column accents echo the character of the building. Interior windows create a visual connection between the café and the Trust Building lobby, allowing the energy and activity of the coffee shop to become part of the larger building experience.
