Inspired by the homeowners' Danish heritage, Scandinavian Cottage brings together contemporary architecture and the timeless principles of Scandinavian design. Positioned between sweeping views of Lake Leelanau and Lake Michigan, the home was carefully oriented to maximize natural light and strengthen its connection to the surrounding landscape. Via Design provided architecture, interior design, and furnishings, creating a cohesive home where every element feels purposeful.

Guided by the Nordic concept of hygge, the interiors emphasize comfort through warm wood tones, natural textiles, curated artwork, and meaningful family heirlooms. A restrained material palette keeps the focus on craftsmanship, light, and the views beyond, while balancing clean contemporary forms with spaces designed for everyday living. The result is a home that honors the homeowners' heritage while embracing its extraordinary lakeside setting.
