Meet Craig Hunsinger.

Happy June - we’ve got a brand new post for you this month to introduce you to everyone at Via. From architects to designers and everyone in-between, we would not function the same without our talented staff. This month we share with you Craig Hunsinger , Project Manager, and Architectural Designer, (and unofficial IT expert here at the office). He started working at Via in 1997 and has been with us since!
How long have you worked at Via?
It’s been 24 years. I started as the only male at Via and there were about 6 or 7 of us in total.
Where did you grow up? Have you always lived in Michigan?
Yes, I lived on the East side of the state near Birmingham. Then I got married and my wife’s family is from here (Grand Rapids) so we moved here and I started working at Via.
What made you choose your profession?
My dad was artistic, and I always enjoyed art too.
What inspires you in daily life and at work?
My client’s ideas. I like being able to bring something to life.
Your favorite hobbies?
Anything outdoors; fishing, hiking, and biking.
Tell us about your family, any kids/pets?
I have a wife, 2 cats and a dog.
What is your life motto/quote?
“I’m too old to worry about it”
What is one thing you wish everyone knew about design/architecture?
There’s no right or wrong answer, the design process can be anything.
What does your ideal day look like?
Being outside in northern Michigan. I like colder climates, like Alaska and Canada.
Your favorite place to eat or drink in Grand Rapids?
I don’t eat out much, I love to cook and grill in the backyard but every Monday I pick up a doggie Sundae at Too Talls for my dog.
