Via Design’s New Sign

Our architectural and interior design firm unveils a newly designed exterior sign that guides and welcomes visitors to our downtown Grand Rapids office.

Located along Cesar E. Chavez Avenue SW in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, our office sits within a historic corridor that blends early 20th-century architecture with the energy of contemporary businesses and cultural venues. Just steps from Van Andel Arena and the future Acrisure Amphitheater, the area reflects both the city’s rich history and its ongoing evolution.

The building itself recently marked its 100th year, having served many roles over time, once a grocer and wholesale fruit operation to a storage a manufacturing facility. Today, it continues its evolution alongside neighbors like Bistro Bella Bella Vita and CLEO Cabinetry, contributing to the ongoing energy of the area.

The sign was installed on a chilly Friday morning in March 2026 and was designed by David Daniele, our Brand & Creative Manager, extending the refined typography introduced in our 2025 branding update. Beginning with a detailed mock-up, the design balances clarity with restraint. Fabricated and installed by Universal Sign Systems, the final result reflects a shared commitment to craftsmanship and precision.

As an architectural and interior design firm based in downtown Grand Rapids, we believe even the most functional elements deserve thoughtful consideration. This sign is a small but meaningful extension of that belief, where material, light, and context come together to create a quiet, defined welcome for staff, clients, and visitors to Via.
